Five stars. (★★★★★)

A couple of years ago I made the surprising discovery that low-volume radio and podcasts are an insomnia hack. During waking hours, I can't manage audio input while my brain is trying to do other things. I don't understand how people can work with radio or TV in the background.

It turns out, the distraction is perfect for sleep. A calming narrative gently disrupts the thought spirals that arise when I'm trying to fall asleep, or wake up in the middle of the night.

Sleepy History is produced specifically for this purpose, and it's great. In Our Time may not be intended for this purpose, but it works just as well. I'd like to say I've been educated subconsciously, but I do not think that's the case.
