Working in Las Vegas

Zero stars.
I'm always thrown by the dissonance of walking through the vacation energy of Las Vegas en route to a meeting or conference session. This past week was another level of surreal.
There was the full-scale entertainment show with strobe lights and t-shirt cannons for 11,000 of my colleagues first thing in the morning. Charli XCX in booty shorts. The incredibly loud, hardcore EDM show at the Sphere that sent people running for the exits. All mixed with work content. What even was that?
I spent hours in lines waiting for disappointing food, getting in and out of event halls, getting on and off buses, checking and claiming luggage. Too much mandatory participation, not nearly enough sleep. Even the extroverts were toast by the end of it.
Please let's not do that again.
