Still Sick

Zero stars. Or, negative stars.
HOW AM I STILL SICK? It's been 10 days of progressive misery and sleep deprivation. And I'm about to get on a plane again.
I thought it was bad in New York last week, then it got worse. I seem to be turning the corner today. Maybe it's the "just-in-case" antibiotics, or this thing has finally run its course.
The silver lining was a helpful telemedicine call where I learned:
Salt water is antibacterial and sinus rinse is the first thing you should do. It's weird and icky but I believe it.
Sudafed 30 minutes before takeoff is the best way to prevent ear pressurization. The pain brought me to tears on the flight home from NY.
You need 75mg of zinc to really make a difference. I ditched the Zicam and bought some much cheaper zinc tablets.
You can get an Albuterol inhaler from the doctor to curb coughing jags.
Antibiotics are a last resort for symptoms lasting longer than two weeks, but if you must get on an airplane to France the nice doctor will prescribe them just in case.
I can't wait to feel human again.
