Five stars. (★★★★★)
Still feeling wobbly from my colonoscopy and a months-long marathon at work, it was really nice to hang out in Missoula with Dad for few low-key days. The rainy weather was calming and provided a solid excuse to take it easy. We were just active enough to not be total losers.
There was a lot of comfort food, starting with MacKenzie River Pizza Sunday night - then lunch at Lolo Peak Brewery Monday followed by a quick stop at the Travelers' Rest visitor center to check out the Lewis & Clark exhibits. Tuesday cleared up enough for an easy hike at Lolo Creek Trail and lunch at Lochsa Lodge. One more walk behind the house on Wednesday morning before I flew out.
Between walking, eating and napping, we did a few NYT Crosswords and Dad introduced me to Connections.
I was excited to see the full moon from Montana, but the weather did not comply. At 2:30 a.m. I could see the bright spot where the moon was hiding behind the clouds, but that's as close as I got. Oh, well. I'll see the almost-full moon on my run back home and call it close enough to count.
This is a really beautiful spot.
