Five stars. (★★★★★)
In three years (2024, 2023) we've gotten incrementally more organized about Fourth of July fireworks; this year we knew where in the neighborhood to go, but were not mosquito-ready and were driven to retreat. Next year: Bug spray, skin-covering clothes, chairs.
The fireworks are only an incidental attraction. The main thing is to reconnect and reflect on the past several months of life events while lounging, eating, walking. We had the right mix of activities - Denver Botanic Gardens, massages at the St. Julien, pottery painting at Color Me Mine - combined with downtime and naps. The weather was dang hot. I ran each morning while it was still cool-ish, then had my leisurely coffee on the patio. Seppi made fantastic meals as always - fried green tomato tacos were the big hit - and I enjoyed Fifi's blueberry coffee cake for breakfast. Ice cream at Sweet Cow Saturday evening was a perfect end to the weekend.
There were many moments I forgot to photograph, but I did OK. I miss everyone already!
